Trends can bring attention. The harder question is what still belongs to your brand after that attention moves on. Join Yishen Law, June Chow and CJ Lee for a conversation about the decisions behind staying power.
Three short founder talks lead into a panel discussion and open audience Q&A. Bring the questions you are weighing for your own brand.
A trend can spark a new business idea or offer an existing business a fresh way to connect with people. Either can be a door worth noticing.
The decision is whether to step through it. How do you tell when a timely opportunity fits the brand you're building—and when to let it pass?
The decisions behind staying power
How do you stay relevant without chasing everything?
Not every opportunity deserves a yes. A timely idea may bring new attention, but it also shapes what people come to expect from your brand.
Yishen, June and CJ will discuss how they judge which opportunities fit their direction—and when letting one pass is the stronger choice.
Meet the people behind the brands
Three founders. Three views on what lasts.
Each founder opens with a short talk before joining the panel conversation.
Yishen Law
Co-Founder, STTOKE
Yishen co-founded STTOKE, a premium drinkware brand born in Melbourne and grown into an international business across Asia and beyond. He has helped turn a bold idea into a global brand, building partnerships with names such as Starbucks, CHAGEE and Ralph’s Coffee. His experience spans opening new markets, building lasting relationships and navigating the highs and lows of entrepreneurship.
June Chow
Founder & CEO, MOMENTRA
June Chow is an award-winning communications and marketing leader with more than 20 years behind brands including Samsung, AirAsia, LEGO and Heineken. As Head of Corporate Marketing at Samsung Electronics, she led brand work with cross-cultural teams across the region. Her path from agency to in-house leadership, the boardroom and now founder has shown her where strategy gets made, where it gets decided, and where it quietly breaks down in execution. Through MOMENTRA, her Singapore-based brand and growth advisory practice, June helps founders and business leaders diagnose growth barriers, sharpen their positioning and value propositions, and connect brand decisions to business priorities. Before investing in the next trend, campaign or channel, she starts with a question many businesses skip: what is actually holding back growth?
CJ Lee
Co-Founder, MOVE Private Fitness
Co-Founder of MOVE Private Fitness, Southeast Asia’s largest premium personal training studio network, with 25 studios across Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand.
With 19 years in the fitness industry, CJ and his team have transformed MOVE from a single studio into a regional brand without franchising, private equity or venture capital funding. Instead, MOVE’s growth has been powered by a community of believers, a strong internal culture and a people-first model that invests deeply in the education, leadership and long-term careers of its coaches.
CJ is regularly invited to speak on international stages, including Beyond Activ, Asia Fitness Conference and IDEA Korea, where he shares honest, battle-tested lessons on scaling a premium service brand across borders without losing its people, culture or soul along the way.
CJ enjoys challenging conventional thinking about leadership, entrepreneurship and what Malaysian brands are capable of achieving globally.
What we'll discuss
The questions worth asking before the next brand decision.
01
Trend or true fit?
When a trend offers quick attention, how do you decide whether it belongs in your brand?
02
What do you say no to?
What have you declined because it did not fit the brand you wanted to build?
03
Growth Without Drift
New opportunities can take a brand further. How do you keep each step connected to what it stands for?
04
What would you ask?
Bring a brand decision you are weighing and put your question to the founders during the open audience Q&A.
A lasting brand finds its own direction.
